IWG expands into Tajikistan

IWG continues to lead the global flexible and mobile working trend with the opening of its latest Regus workspace in the capital city of Dushanbe

Business in Tajikistan to take care of? IWG has thrown open the doors to the first centre of its heritage brand Regus in the country’s capital, as part of its continuing expansion into Central Asia.

“Dushanbe is not only the capital of Tajikistan but also the focal economic hub of the country, with 10% of the population centred in the city,” explains Andrzej Mrozek-Folkierski, Global Corporate Development Director. “Consequently, it was only natural for the first centre to open in the city before looking to deliver a wider national network, once the brand develops among the local business community.”

The development comes hot off the heels of the Tajik government’s $150 million purchase of several key real estate properties including the Sozidaniye Business Centre to provide the country with a co-working infrastructure.

Based in an area known as Opera-Ballet – the new Regus centre is a stroll from iconic landmarks such as the Alisher Navoi National Park and Ayni Opera & Ballet Theatre, and within easy reach for both customers and their clients who are based in the city or commuting from the suburbs.

The interiors are designed to accommodate Dushanbe’s thriving business community, set over two floors with fully furnished, IT-enabled co-working spaces and meeting rooms.

“The new workspace is modern, bright and vibrant and offers something entirely new to the business community in Dushanbe,” says Roz Young, Sales Director for Franchise, who was at the centre’s opening event alongside the UK Ambassador and the Deputy Mayor of Dushanbe. “The appeal to our customers of this unique offering is demonstrated by the three offices we have already sold at the centre immediately post-opening.”

With plans afoot for further growth in the neighbourhood, Dushanbe’s new workspace looks set to go from strength to strength. “The area is currently undergoing development to further enhance its desirability, which will no doubt attract more businesses,” observes Roz Young.
